The short films directed by Alice Eça Guimarães and Marta Reis Andrade were honoured at the 2025 edition of the Portuguese Animation Award (Prémio Nacional de Animação).

At the 2025 edition of the Portuguese Animation Award (Prémio Nacional da Animação), the jury of the Professional Films Competition — composed of Xavier Kawa-Topor (animation film historian and president of the French association NEF Animation), Isabela Littger (director and animation filmmaker), and Rodrigo Goulão de Sousa (director and storyboard artist) — awarded the short film “Dog Alone” (Marta Reis Andrade, 2025, Portugal/France, ANI, 13′) the Best Film Award in the Professional Films category.

In the same category, the film “Because Today is Saturday” (Alice Eça Guimarães, 2025, Portugal/France/Spain, ANI, 12′) received an Honourable Mention, as well as the Audience Award. In the Workshop Films category, the film "Delicious Memories" (2025, Portugal, ANI, 4') — developed by users of the Centro Rainha Dona Leonor, under the guidance of filmmakers Maria Trigo Teixeira and Julia Benedyktowicz — also received an Honourable Mention.

The trophies presented, designed in the form of optical toys, pay tribute to key milestones in Portuguese animation: the 40th anniversary of “Oh que Calma” and the 30th anniversary of “Fado Lusitano”, both directed by Abi Feijó; the 20th anniversary of “Tragic Story With Happy Ending”, by Regina Pessoa; and the 10th anniversary of “Amélia & Duarte”, directed by Alice Eça Guimarães and Mónica Santos, and produced by Ciclope Filmes.

The awards ceremony took place on Sunday, October 26th, at 5:00 p.m., at the Casa de Artes e Cultura do Tejo, in Vila Velha de Ródão.
