Four films shortlisted for the Prémio Nacional de Animação

The films “Dog Alone", “Because Today is Saturday", “Amarelo Banana”, and “Conversations In Line" are included in the official list of films competing in the professional and workshop categories of the Prémio Nacional de Animação.

The short films “Dog Alone” (Marta Reis Andrade, 2025, Portugal/France, ANI, 13′), “Because Today is Saturday” (Alice Eça Guimarães, 2025, Portugal/France/Spain, ANI, 12′), and “Amarelo Banana” (Alexandre Sousa, 2025, Portugal/Hungary, ANI, 13′) have been selected for the Professional Films Competition at the Prémio Nacional da Animação (Portuguese Animation Award). Also featured in the PNA’s competitions, the short film “Conversations In Line” (2025, Portugal, ANI, 3′) — created by students from Escola Secundária José Régio under the guidance of filmmaker Natália Azevedo — competes in the Workshop Films category, highlighting the creativity and learning fostered within educational settings.

Celebrating its 24th edition, Festa Mundial da Animação (World Animation Festival) will screen these films today as part of the “PNA - Workshop Category” and “PNA - Category Professional” sessions, taking place at the Casa de Artes e Cultura do Tejo at 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., respectively.
