
Biography
JOÃO PEDRO MAMEDE was born in Almada and began his training there, in the Cena Múltipla project, directed by Francis Seleck, Pedro D'Orey and Catarina Pé-Curto. Started working professionally on stage with the monologue A 20 DE NOVEMBRO by Lars Nóren, directed by Francis Seleck and has been working with Artistas Unidos since then on texts by Georg Büchner, Antonio Tarantino, Simon Stephens, Jorge Silva Melo, Harold Pinter, David Greig, Tennessee Williams, Marguerite Duras, Raul Brandão, Heiner Müller and Dimítris Dimitriádis, among others. In 2017, he staged A ESTUPIDEZ by Rafael Spregelburd with Artistas Unidos and in 2018 he staged SWEET HOME EUROPA by Davide Carnevali with TNDMII. Founded the company Os Possessos, where he creates the shows MARCHA INVENCÍVEL and O NOVO MUNDO, among others. In cinema, he has worked with Ivo M. Ferreira, Jorge Silva Melo, Márcio Laranjeira, Mário Barroso, Pedro Cabeleira and Tiago Guedes. Most recently, he took part in the series O AMERICANO by Ivo M. Ferreira on RTP and directed VICTOR OU AS CRIANÇAS NO PODER by Roger Vitrac in a co-production Os Possessos/Artistas Unidos/TNSJ.
