Terminal, directed by Alexandre Siqueira, has been selected for the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF)
"Terminal", the new animated short film by Alexandre Siqueira, will have its world premiere at the 51st Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The film comes after the international success of Siqueira's acclaimed previous animated short "Purpleboy" and will screen in the Short Cuts Competition, the festival's competitive section dedicated to short films.
Terminal is produced by BAP Animation Studios, one of Portugal's leading animation studios, whose acclaimed productions include Garrano, Dog Alone, Percebes, The Garbage Man, Elo, and Drop by Drop. The latter four also had their North American premieres at TIFF.
The film is a co-production between BAP Animation Studios (Portugal), Studio Kimchi (Spain), and XBO Films (France). With this selection, Terminal (2026, Portugal/Spain/France, animation, 17') joins one of the world's most prestigious film festivals, reinforcing the presence of Portuguese cinema on the international stage and confirming the growing recognition of Portuguese animation at major international festivals.
