Portuguese Short Films highlighted at Porto Femme

The films directed by Maria Inês Gonçalves, Margarida Paias, Nevena Desivojević, Marta Reis Andrade, Alice Eça Guimarães, Maureen Fazendeiro, Inês Oliveira, and Laura Anahory have been chosen for the official selection of the Porto Femme IFF

The short films “La Durmiente” (Maria Inês Gonçalves, 2025, Portugal/Spain, DOC/FIC, 20′); “Rui Carlos” (Margarida Paias, 2025, Portugal, FIC, 15′); “Bright Summer Days” (Nevena Desivojević, 2025, Serbia/North Macedonia/Republic of Srpska/Portugal/Bosnia and Herzegovina, FIC14'); “Dog Alone” (Marta Reis Andrade, 2025, Portugal/France, ANI, 13′); “The Inhabitants” (Maureen Fazendeiro, 2025, Portugal/France, DOC/FIC, 42′); “Neko” (Inês Oliveira, 2025, Portugal, FIC, 30′); and “Because Today is Saturday” (Alice Eça Guimarães, 2025, Portugal/France/Spain, ANI, 12′) have been selected for the Portuguese Competition of the 9th edition of the Porto Femme – International Film Festival. The festival will also screen “The Bird From Within” (Laura Anahory, 2024, Portugal, ANI, 6′) in the Student Film Competition. Dedicated to promoting the work of women and non-binary filmmakers, the festival will take place from April 20th to 26th, 2026, in Porto.
