The Portuguese Short Film Agency once again partnered with the 2025 edition of O Dia Mais Curto as a programming partner, reaffirming its role in promoting and circulating contemporary Portuguese cinema.
This year, Agência – Portuguese Short Film Agency contributed to O Dia Mais Curto (The Short Film Day) event’s programme with Novas Curtas Portuguesas, a curated selection highlighting emerging voices and perspectives in Portuguese filmmaking, presented in various screening contexts throughout December.
In addition to its curatorial role, the Agency supported and coordinated screenings in collaboration with several partner organisations, including Animapix – International Animation Festival of Pico Island (Azores), Cinema Trindade (Porto), Cinema Ideal (Lisbon), and Cinemateca Portuguesa (Lisbon), ensuring wide territorial circulation of Portuguese short films and directors.
The Agência’s participation in O Dia Mais Curto 2025 underscores the importance of collaborative networks between programming, exhibition, and cultural mediation, reaffirming the short film as a vital format for discovery and the dissemination of contemporary cinema.
