The films directed by Marta Reis Andrade and Alexandre Sousa are competing for the Animated Short Film Grand Jury Prize at the AFI FEST Film Festival.
The films “Dog Alone” (Marta Reis Andrade, 2025, Portugal/France, ANI, 13′) and “Amarelo Banana” (Alexandre Sousa, 2025, Portugal/Hungary, ANI, 13′) have been selected for the Animated Short Film Grand Jury Prize at the AFI FEST Film Festival. Following their U.S. premieres at the Chicago International Film Festival and the Telluride Film Festival, respectively, these Portuguese short films will be screened today, October 25th, as part of the “Animation Shorts 2” program, at 2:15 p.m. (GMT-7), at the TCL Chinese Theatres.
AFI FEST, one of the most prestigious film events in the United States, celebrates its 39th edition this year, taking place from October 22nd to 26th in Los Angeles, California.
