'Ice Merchants' and 'The Garbage Man' nominated for the Quirino Awards

Portuguese animation is once again in the spotlight, in the nominations for the 6th edition of the Iberian Animation Quirino Awards.

Portuguese animation is once again in the spotlight, in the nominations for the 6th edition of the Ibero-American Animation Quirino Awards.

Among the 223 works submitted, 41 works from 10 countries were selected, which are now competing for a place among the finalists in the nine categories. The Quirino Awards were created in 2018 to promote the talent and the industry of Ibero-American animation.

'Ice Merchants', by João Gonzalez – already awarded the Quirino for Best School Short Film, with 'Néstor' – and 'O Homem Do Lixo', by Laura Gonçalves, are nominated in the Best Short Film category.

The award ceremony takes place on 13 May, San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Tenerife.
