The Garbage Man, by Laura Gonçalves, was awarded Best Animated Film in the International Animated Competition of the 45th Drama – International Short Film Festival.
Laura Gonçalves' film adds the award won in Greece to the Film Critics Award at the World Festival of Animated Film in Varna, Bulgaria; Best Short Film in Competition and Audience Award at Animafest – World Festival of Animated Films Zagreb, Croatia; and Best Portuguese Short Film, SPA/Vasco Granja Award and Audience Award at Monstra Lisbon Animation Festival.
