The Agência – Portuguese Short Film Agency will take part in the 40th edition of the Guadalajara International Film Festival, taking place from June 6th to 14th, 2025, in Mexico.
This year, Portugal has been named the Guest Country of Honor, at FICG – Guadalajara International Film Festival providing a unique opportunity to showcase Portuguese cinema in the Ibero-American context.
The Agência – Portuguese Short Film Agency's participation is part of a program dedicated to Portuguese cinema. This program features a selection of contemporary animated works, along with two masterclasses on creative processes led by directors João Gonzalez and Regina Pessoa. The masterclasses will focus on their most internationally acclaimed projects. Additionally, Regina Pessoa will present a retrospective of her films, which includes several of her short works: “The Night” (1999, Portugal, ANI, 7'), “Tragic Story with Happy Ending” (2005, Canada/Portugal/France, ANI, 8'), “Kali, The Little Vampire” (2012, Canada/Portugal/France/Switzerland, ANI, 9'), and “Uncle Thomas, Accounting For The Days” (2019, Portugal/Canada/France, ANI/DOC, 13').
FICG is recognized as one of the leading platforms for the promotion, dissemination, and appreciation of Mexican and Ibero-American cinema, and it stands as a cultural landmark in Latin America.
