The three Portuguese short films, by Inês Teixeira, Mónica Lima, and Basil da Cunha, premiered together in several Portuguese cinemas.
The Agência – Portuguese Short Film Agency took the films ‘2720’ (Basil da Cunha, 2023, Portugal / Switzerland, FIC / DOC, 25′), ‘Shimmering Bodies’ (Inês Teixeira, 2023, Portugal, FIC, 23′) and ‘Human Nature’ (Mónica Lima, 2023, Germany / Portugal, FIC, 25′), showing new audiences three visions of characters who have in common the fact that they live surrounded by physical or metaphorical walls, even though they are at different stages of life.
‘2720’, by Basil da Cunha, set in the clandestine neighborhood of Reboleira, follows Camila, a seven-year-old girl who is looking for her brother, and Jysone, who after six years in prison and five weeks of freedom, finds work and knows he can't be late. ‘Shimmering Bodies’, by Inês Teixeira, explores a moment in the life of Mariana, a 16-year-old girl who, when invited to spend a weekend at her classmate Jorge's house, begins to look at him differently. ‘Human Nature’, by Mónica Lima, tells the story of a couple from Lisbon who find their plans to start a family being jeopardised by a sense of uncertainty.
