Carlos Conceição will participate in the 11th of the Sicilia Queer International New Visions Filmfest, which will take place from 3rd to 6th June and from 8th to 12th September.
Carlos Conceição will be present at the 11th edition of the Sicilia Queer International New Visions Filmfest, which will take place in two phases: the first, from 3rd to 6th June, with workshops, and retrospectives, and the second, composed of competitive sessions, from 8th to 12th September.
The "Presenze" section will be dedicated to the work of the director who, in the words of the festival, is “one of the most significant talents of the New Portuguese Cinema. A visionary and multifaceted artist, director, screenwriter, editor, director of photography and producer capable of exploring the obsession, irony and the depths of desire (between history and invention), while investigating different genres and languages, his films have been presented in Cannes, Berlin, Locarno, and other international independent film festivals". This section will be a complete retrospective of Conceição's films: "The Flesh" (2010), "Hell" (2011), "Versailles" (2013), "Goodnight Cinderella" (2014), "Wake Up Leviathan" (2015), "Bad Bunny" (2017), "Serpentarius" (2019) and the most recent "Name Above Title" (2020).
With his first feature film "Serpentarius", Carlos Conceição was awarded in the ninth edition of Sicilia Queer Filmfest.
