Francisco Dias was born in 1999 in Porto, Portugal. In 2017, he was awarded a scholarship to study the Bachelor’s in Sound and Image at the School of Arts - Universidade Católica Portuguesa. In 2019, he studied a semester at Volda University College in Norway, where he directed the short fiction "In Sanity: Sadness & Joy", selected for FEST - New Directors/New Films Festival. In 2020, he directed the short film "I Don't Like 5 PM", a journey of discovering the first love, which won the Take One competition of Curtas Vila do Conde - International Film Festival. In the same year, he was awarded a scholarship to study the Master’s in Cinema at the School of Arts - Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Rooted in his culture and personal experiences, his films have portraited poetry, coming of age and human relationships.
