
Biography
Luís Costa was born in 1993, in Porto. In 2014, he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Sound and Image at the School of Arts of the Catholic University of Porto. As a young director, he worked on several projects in the audiovisual area, and his two academic short films academic were recognized in several national and international festivals. He has also developed side projects in photography and videoclips, among others. He is co-founder and director of the Pinehouse Concerts project. In 2017, he premiered The Everlasting Man, awarded as best documentary short film by the Portuguese Film Academy. In 2020 he presents O Nosso Reino, an award-winning short film with several screenings at national and international film festivals. In 2019, he cofounded Olhar de Ulisses, a film production company in Porto where, in different roles, he develops several films and projects. Saturno and Light Was a Break, his latest short films, are now in distribution. He is also directing a documentary series on photography and developing his first fiction feature.
