Marta Reis Andrade's latest short film is part of the official selection of the World Animated Film Festival - Animafest Zagreb.
The animated short film ‘Dog Alone’ has been selected for the Grand Competition of Short Films at the 35th World Animated Film Festival - Animafest Zagreb. This prestigious event will take place from June 2nd to 7th, 2025, in Croatia.
The film narrates the true story of a dog who is left alone in his house following the death of his owner and companions. His constant howling disturbs the entire neighborhood, creating a ripple effect of emotions. Next door, an elderly man feels isolated, while his granddaughter, Marta, returns from London, where she experienced profound loneliness. Her arrival signals a potential change for both the dog and the elderly man.
Directed by Marta Reis Andrade, ‘Dog Alone’ is a co-production between the Portuguese studio BAP - Animation Studios and the French production company IKKI Films. Employing 2D animation techniques that blend digital and analogue painting, the film has a runtime of 13 minutes.
