Portuguese cinema was honored at the Sophia Awards, with '2720' by Basil da Cunha winning Best Fiction Short Film and 'Cold Soup (Sopa. Fria)' by Marta Monteiro standing out in the Best Animated Short Film category.
The Sophia Awards, organized by the Portuguese Film Academy, marked the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April with a theme of 'Cinema is Freedom', celebrating democracy.
