The films "Your Name Is", "Anyhow, Anyway", and "The Girl Who Stood Still" are in competition at Cinanima, an animation festival taking place in Espinho until November 14th.

"Your Name Is", a film by Paulo Patrício, is a look at the case of the murder of Gisberta Salce Jr., a transsexual, HIV-positive, drug addict and homeless woman who was violently tortured for several days by a group of 14 teenagers in Porto in 2006. "Your Name Is" was produced by Luna Blue Film, Ambiances Asbl and Animals AVPL, and is distributed by Da Curta Metragem Agency.

Catarina Romano's film, "Anyhow, Anyway", portrays a woman who, unemployed, has been living shut in and enclosed in her house for a long time, experiencing ever closer cycles of precariousness. "Seja Como For" was produced by AIM - Animation Studios and won the Special Jury Prize at the Luso-Brazilian Film Festival of Santa Maria da Feira.

"The Girl Who Stood Still" by Joana Toste won the Best Children's Film Award at the World Festival of Animated Film, and is about a little girl who refuses to leave her place after getting lost from her mother.
