Film by Fábio Silva awarded at Play-Doc

"Fruit of Thy Womb" by Fábio Silva won the Short Film Competition Award of the 17th Play Doc - International Film Festival.

Last Sunday, September 26th, Fábio Silva's most recent film was awarded Best Short Film at Play-Doc, which took place between September 22nd and 26th, in Tui, Spain.

About the film, the jury of the competition attributed the following comment: "For its simplicity, honesty and originality with which it approaches a profound theme, with rare intimacy. As it is a courageous film that explores its own visual language, the jury decided to award the prize Best Short Film for the film Fruit of Thy Womb, by Fábio Silva".

Fábio Silva was born in Lisbon in 1992 and graduated from the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema. In 2018, he co-directed his first film, "Hip to da Hop". Directed the short films "A Morte de Isaac" and "Fruto do Vosso Ventre", both selected in several national and international festivals. He is currently working on his next feature documentary entitled "Dan Benson".
