12 March 2021

"Tie", by Alexandra Ramires and "Armour", by Sandro Aguilar, will be shown at the 59th edition of the Ann Arbor Film Festival, to be held from 23 to 28 March.

The short films "Tie", by Alexandra Ramires (Bando à Parte; Providences) and "Armour", by Sandro Aguilar (O Som e Fúria; Paraloeil) will compete at the 59th edition of the Ann Arbor Film Festival, which will take place between March 23 and 28.

"Armour" will be part of the section "Films for Competition 4", which will be shown on March 26; while "Tie" will join "Films in Competition 12", with projection scheduled for the 27th.

Both works are promoted and distributed by Agência - Portuguese Short Film Agency and are making a remarkable journey through national and international festivals. Just last month, "Tie" was awarded the Jury Special Mention at the 40th edition of the Brussels Animation Film Festival and "Armour" was selected for the International Competition of the 43rd edition of Cinéma du Réel.

Founded in 1963 by George Manupelli, the Ann Arbor Film Festival is the oldest festival in North America, dedicated to avant-garde and experimental works. The six-day festival features 40 programs and more than 180 films, from different parts of the globe, with different lenghts and genres.

Filmmakers like Brian De Palma, Agnes Varda, Andy Warhol or Gus Van Sant exhibited their first works at Ann Arbor.

This edition of Ann Arbor will take place online.
